ESSENTIAL HAIR AND NAIL FORMULA 120 capsules per bottle Suggested Use – Four (4) capsules daily or as directed. Some of the nutrients contained in our hair and nail formula include: Horsetail (Equisteum arvense) is an herb rich in silicon and has long been recommended to help restore dull, lifeless hair and chipped, dry nails. Silicon is important for the maintenance of bones, connective tissues, and collagen. Silicon is also helpful in the absorption of calcium. MSM has also been known to strengthen hair and nails, and is especially good for brittle, peeling nails. It also has been known to make hair thicker and shinier. Evening primrose oil is an essential fatty acid that has been known to aid dry skin and dull, lifeless hair. Calcium has many different functions including the formation of strong bones and teeth and it is needed for muscular growth. A deficiency in Copper can lead to baldness, and Copper works in balance with Zinc and Vitamin C to form elastin. Cysteine is present in alpha-keratin, the chief protein constituent of the fingernails, toenails, skin, and hair. It aids in the production of collagen and has been shown to promote elasticity and skin texture. Para-Aminobenzoic Acid is one of the basic constituents of folic acid and also helps in the assimilation of pantothenic acid. This antioxidant helps protect against sunburn and skin cancer and assists in the formation of red blood cells. A deficiency of the B vitamins causes fragility of the nails. Biotin aids in the utilization of B-complex vitamins. Sufficient quantities are needed for healthy hair and skin. Inositol is vital for hair growth. It has been shown to have a calming effect and is important in the metabolism of fat and cholesterol. Excessive consumption of caffeine may cause a shortage of inositol in the body.
